Merchant Vessel approached by Skiffs in the BaM - UKMTO Advisory 002/ Dec 16

ADVISORY NOTICE 002/DEC/2016

1.            Category: Irregular Activity.

2.            Description: On 22 December 2016 at 1025 UTC in position 12 40.8N 043 20.3E, an MV reported being approached by 2 high speed boat with 5 POB in each boat on the port and starboard quarter. The closest speed boat got to 0.3nm. MV sounded alarm, increased speed, and activated hoses.  AST showed their weapons to the speed boats, who then altered their course and moved away. MV is safe.
