1. UKMTO have released two Advisory Notices this week with one subsequent update (see page3).

2. UKMTO Dubai has received numerous queries regarding the Dhow Salama1, to date we have received no credible information regarding this vessel. Investigations are ongoing and should any firm detail come to hand then UKMTO will issue an update.

3. Al Kausar, which was reported as having been hijacked on 01 Apr 17, Ref ADVISORY NOTICE 001/APR/ 2017, is presently located between Hobyo and El Hur with up to 11 souls on-board. The increased activity in the region emphasises UKMTO advice to all shipping transiting the area to remain vigilant and comply fully with guidance given in Best Management Practices for Protection against Somalia Based Piracy 4 (BMP4), copy at the following link .
