Seven events have been reported to MDAT-GoG this week.

HIJACKING

21/03/20 22NM off Port Gentil, GABON

On the 21st March, at aproximately 0500UTC, at 22NM off Port Gentil inside Ganonese TTW , an MV (NAME WITHHELD) was attacked by an unknown number of attackers while enroute from Bata to Annobon. The MV (NAME WITHHELD) was subsequently hijacked and tracked heading to Nigeria. The MV (NAME WITHHELD) was released on 23rd March in position 03°53'7N - 006°50'56E.

BOARDING

22/03/20 280/62NM off Libreville, GABON

On 22nd March at 0730UTC, in position 00°33N – 008°25E, an MV (NAME WITHHELD) was attacked and boarded by unknown attacker.

ATTACK

25/03/20 209°/79Nm off Brass, NIGERIA

On the 25th March, at 1022UTC, in position 03°08N – 005°35E an MV (NAME WITHHELD) was attacked by one skiff with 7 persons on board.

SUSPICIOUS APPROACH

26/03/20 193/22 NM off Cotonou, BENIN

On 26th March, at 0820UTC, in position 05°59’8N - 002°21’2E, an MV (NAME WITHHELD) was approached to within 2 cables, by a skiff with 4 to 5 POB. Vessel and crew were reported safe. MDAT-GoG comment:This event refers to ADVISORY 004/MAR/20

THEFT

20/03/20 316/6NM off Pointe Noire, CONGO

On 20th March at 0830UTC in position 04°43N – 11°46E an MV (NAME WITHHELD) was robbed while at anchorage. Vessel and crew were reported safe.

ROBBERY

27/03/20 176/9NM off Conakry, GUINEA

On the 27th March at 0230UTC, while at anchorage, a theft occurred on an MV (NAME WITHHELD). Vessel and crew were reported safe.

SIGHTING

25/03/20 232/180NM off Brass, NIGERIA

On the 25th March at 1630UTC, in position 02°27N – 004°01E an MV (NAME WITHHELD) was followed by an unidentified craft with unknown intentions.
